Monterey is a world-class destination and home to some of the best scuba diving in the world. This unique and beautiful environment is an excellent and popular training ground for divers as well as professional Divemasters and Instructors. But it takes more than diving and instructor skills to be successful in this industry. You need good people skills and specialized technical skills to survive. Thats where our Career Program comes in. We put our students in direct contact with equipment, customers, advanced diving systems, the marine environment, seamanship, and maintenance training. Our Career Graduates are ready to work anywhere recreational scuba operations are being conducted. The reason we can say this is because Monterey Bay Dive Company is situated at the leading edge of diving tourism in California. We operate a dynamic PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center in one of the world's most popular dive destinations. The central coast of California has a highly-developed tourist infrastructure and supports an international travel destination as well as an international dive destination. We are located directly across the street from The Breakwater and the Number 2 Training Beach on the West Coast - San Carlos Beach. By completing career training with us, you actually hone your skills in this environment and complete the credentials you need to succeed. We also provide worldwide job placement services after graduation. Our professional career training is conducted in 4 phases depending on your current level. For those students not yet certified, Phase A is just the beginning. If you are newly certified, completing Phase B can take you to the pre-professional level and hone your problem solving skills giving you the edge you need to begin professional training. Divemaster training develops your dive knowledge and supervision skills. At this level you are able to handle equipment logistics and act as a safety diver for training and tour activities. This is your "rite of passage" to the professional member ranks. One of the most popular programs at MBDC is Resort Operations Training. Here you learn everything from boat handling to compressor maintenance; gas blending, equipment specialist, fill station operations, retail sales, underwater tour guide, marine ecology and more. This invaluable training is what makes you an asset to resort operations around the world and allows you to be competetive in this exciting job market. Phase D teaches you the PADI System of Diver Education and develops your skill as a professional dive educator. The PADI Instructor rating is the highest sought after professional rating in the industry and for good reason - PADI Open Water Diver is the most sought after scuba certification in the world. In fact PADI represents approximately 78 percent of the scuba training market worldwide. The PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor rating is your ticket to success!
