Phase C
RO Training is where all of your scuba training comes together in the dynamic daily operations of a resort shop. You'll gain first-hand knowledge and practice with real customers and other dive industry professionals as you learn more about the background operations required to support and service the international diving industry. Environmental Ecology consists of earning the PADI Underwater Naturalist and Aware Fish ID Specialties in context with the Monterey Bay eco system. Discussions on species identification and marine mammals are held to increase your awareness of contemporary issues. Boat Operations will have you aboard our dive vessel - The Silver Prince. You'll serve as Mate and Resort Divemaster/Instructor while you conduct dive briefings, direct dive preparations, act as in-water supervisors and interact with actual customers while earning the PADI Boat Diver Specialty. Note: You do not take the place of paid crewmembers. Your function is to learn, working under staff supervision at all times. Fill Station & Compressor Operations will teach you the basics of filling scuba cylinders and monitoring compressor and bank pressures. Principles of air compressor filtration systems, maintenance and proper start-up procedures are included with hands-on practical training. Gas Blending consists of the DSAT Gas Blender Certification which teaches you to competently mix and blend Nitrox cylinders. You will be certified to blend enriched air nitrox and have a general working knowledge of trimix blending theory. This module also includes Oxygen Service Standards and Oxygen Clean Systems. Equipment Repair consists of the PADI Equipment Specialist Certification. You will gain valuable knowledge in the operation and design of first and second stage regulators, cylinder valves, inflation devices and instrumentation and the skills necessary for cleaning and maintaining modern scuba regulators, BCDs and other related equipment.
