Monterey Bay Ocean School

Hi, we are excited you found us and welcome to a new level of education and understanding

Monterey Bay Ocean School is a unique online campus that integrates diving skills and knowledge development with marine studies that focus on the rich diversity and ecology of the Central California Coast in general. Our study programs are available to a world-wide audience as well. Whether you live on the central coast or just want more in-depth knowledge of the area, our courses will make you subject matter experts on this unique marine environment.

While we are developing courses and content, please enjoy some selected video lectures by various academic researchers presented at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, UC Berkeley, and the Scripps Institute in San Diego California. We also have a selected readings section that is a primer for reading assignments. Learn about the amazing diversity of life just off our coast and how science is working to understand intricate species/environmental interactions.

Not all categories or sections are accessible to guests. Please call or email for more information about our programs.

We are a group of professional underwater educators and our goal is to bring you quality online educational materials and programs with an emphasis on marine ecology and biodiversity. Much of our research and training is related specifically to California and the Monterey Bay ecosystems. We are also divers who strive to understand our unique marine environment using up close and personal methods combined with sound scientific principles.

We hope you enjoy our selected programs. We are currently and continually writing courses and content for the school. Please check back often for more information and new programs as they evolve. Our grand opening date will be announced soon.

The Ocean School also serves as an online knowledge development campus for diver training.
